Be Consistent!

It’s so important to be consistent!

Be Consistent

Last week I wrote about slowing down. So how come this week I’m talking about being consistent? Because we have to have a balance between action and slowing down. If we slow down too much we might stop altogether! And building any kind of relationship takes consistent action because consistency creates trust.

So first, I apologise for this newsletter being a day late! But you know what they say…better late than never.  Sometimes we fly to the other side of the world and lose track of what time, or even what day it is. And that’s ok. We are all human. When we make a mistake we can put it right the best we can. Such as sending this newsletter 24 hours later!

But what does being consistent mean in a personal relationship? No, it doesn’t mean every day has to be identical. We don’t have to always go to the same restaurant every week for date night. Or have the same conversations over and over. That kind of consistency would soon lead to boredom!

To get to the Point about being Consistent…

The sort of consistency I am talking about is being reliable. So if you say you will be home from work by 8 pm, make an effort to keep your eye on your watch. Don’t just forget about the time and turn up whenever you feel like it. Because when you turn up 4 hours later than you said, you are not being reliable.

Be consistent about communicating with each other. Keep finding out how your partner is feeling. Make a habit of asking what they might need from you in terms of emotional support. Listen to them and let them know you are here for them.

Lastly, don’t forget to be vulnerable with your significant other. It is just as important to share you own emotions and needs with them on a regular basis. A relationship has to go both ways!

And if you want some help with being consistent, I invite you to try out a powerful coaching call so you can experience it for yourself. It is my gift to you.
