How is not dealing with your emotions serving you?
Whether we face our emotions or not, we are always living them anyway. We cannot escape them ever. If we bury them they will find some way of coming out. Most of the ways they express themselves are unhealthy, such as through illness.
I know it is scary to open Pandora’s box. But if you don’t explore the depths within, you will be trapped inside the box with those difficult emotions. And they will never sort themselves out without your help. Time does not heal. Facing our issues is what heals.
Our emotions are there to help us. They point to what needs changing in our lives. We know what we need to work on in our self development by being aware of our emotions.
What can you do to start dealing with your emotions?
One of the things that I have found helpful in the past is writing poetry. Somehow the emotions come out even when you are not specifically thinking about them. Journaling is another great way to become more aware of your feelings. Sometimes you start out with one subject and another one jumps out at you.
When you feel angry, you might find that doing vigorous exercise is helpful. Whether you take up a sport or gardening, you will be able to process your emotions as you do so.
In my relationship coaching I encourage you to practise having emotion based conversations. These really help with communication as they focus on the feelings and avoid arguments.
So that is one of the things you can expect in my online relationship coaching. If you want to try it out, I would love to offer you a powerful coaching call so you can experience it for yourself. It is my gift to you.
